We spent New Years Eve in Zanzibar at the Sau Inn on the east coast of the island. We got a free meal as a compensation for receiving inferior rooms. The buffet was excellent, there was plenty of fresh seafood. My wife did not share my opinion, she does not eat anything from the sea, she does not like the smell. They refused to bring the bottles of champagne which was included in the meal because our meal was free. There was a music group. They were playing with the help of a generator because there was no electricity on the island after an underwater cable had been damaged. We had fun dancing on the sand, under the stars. It was magical evening and later came the fireworks. Right after midnight we decided to go to bed. I will always remember this special evening.
