--------Alentejo
We visited the Alentejo region on our way to our house near Cantanhede. We visited the famous city of Evora enlightened by the beautiful Christmas lights and displays. I never visted a prehistorical site, so it was a treat to go visit the prehistoric menhirs of the Cromeleque dos Almendres about 15 km west of the city of Evora. This site is one of the biggest of its kind in Europe. We also wanted to visit the famous bone chapel but we could not find it. I wanted to visit more historical monuments. The girls were young and it was not their idea of good time. It was an easy ride to Cantanhede through the plains of the Alentejo.
