My Trip to Portugal (1979)
Obviously the highlight of my trip was to meet my mom and dad, but also some of my friends that I had left behind two years before. Guys like my cousin Reinaldo da Sila, Carlos Lote, Rui, Elias and Gil Cruz, Licinio, Raul Sezero (?) and many others.
I cannot forget my Grand-pa Serrador always one of my favorites. He never missed a chance to bring me to a fishing trip around o Barracao and the Praia de Mira.
This was one of the last times I got together with my friends. Not long after that they moved to different parts of Portugal or the world.
I also got the privilege to visit some of the most interesting sites of Portugal for the first time: Monasteiro de Batalha, Caselo de Leiria, Castelo de Pombal, Coimbra, Conimbriga, Bussaco, Coimbra. When I lived there in 1976 to 1977, the only place we visited was basically a Praia de Mira.
