Our Visit to Connecticut
Right after that we stopped for the night. As usual we picked a random exit from the interstate and we looked for a reasonably priced hotel. We ended up in the town of Old Saybrook and we stayed at the Super 8. The girls were happy to get out of the car. The Dodge Spider was fun to drive but the girls got a lot of the wind in the back of the convertible. The same night we looked for a restaurant. The girls wanted pizza and pasta, they went to a place called Sal's Pizza and Pasta right by our Hotel. I loved seafood so I went where a lot of people had suggested: Dock and Dine Restaurant. It was supposed to be easy to get there but I got lost. I finally found It. I was pretty frustrated. The place was beautiful right by the water and marina. I did not like the high prices and settled for something small. I wanted fresh local fish but the waitress did not have a clue what I was talking about. Local Fish????I thought the food was pretty average.
Next day we went to Hammonasset Beach State Park. It has the largest shoreline park in the state, 2 miles of beach... a lot of sand. There is also large boulders where kids can climb and play on. It's worth visiting. We made our way to New-York after this nice visit
